Our Christchurch story
Earthquakes moved the kitchen. Christchurch kept it going. Malaysia Delights has been serving the city since 2008, one bowl, skewer and wok at a time.

2008–2010
Malaysia Delights opened its first Christchurch restaurant in July 2008. The September 2010 earthquake forced the first of several moves.
2011–2016
After the February earthquake changed the city again, the kitchen found a new home in Papanui and rebuilt around a loyal local community.
2017–2019
A smaller, more mobile Malaysia Delights arrived as a street-food truck, serving festivals, markets and city lunches.
2019–today
The current Riverside Kitchen brings the whole story together beside the Avon River: generous Malaysian classics cooked fresh.
